Top 10 UK Easter Motorhome Destinations
Here are just a few ideas to get you going when you are planning your UK Easter break. They don’t cost the earth and for a cheery Easter week away, or maybe just a few days, they can be just the tonic you need after a bad winter. These are just bite size ideas to get you started, in no particular order.
1) The Peak District
Roam around the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, see the caverns and enjoy lunch in the many quaint little pubs on the moors. This is a relaxing getaway for families or couples.
2) The Cotswolds
Go back in time and travel the windy lanes of the Cotswolds. Visit Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, and Painswick and enjoy browsing along the ancient streets and looking in the tasty cheese shops.
3) The Norfolk Broads
See the waterways of this part of Britain, enjoy a lazy lunch by the side of the river and explore the coastal towns of Cromer (famous for its crab), Sherringham and Great Yarmouth (the kids will love it!).
4) Blackpool and Fylde Coast.
Great fun for all the family – winter or summer. Enjoy the golden mile with its shops, amusements and restaurants. The Pleasure beach and the Sea Life centre are great for kids and you can be assured you won’t be bored!
5) Devon and Cornwall.
The south of England offers spectacular scenery, sweeping moors, colourful countryside, clean beaches and charming coastal towns. From North Devon to the South coast, the whole of this area is within easy reach when you are behind the wheel of your motorhome.
6) Scotland.
Travel up to the north of the UK to see the gentle rolling hills and sparkling lochs of this haunting country. Explore the ancient castles and walk in the footsteps of the past enjoying breathtaking views and sweeping beaches. Scotland is great for walkers and romantics.
7) Wales
Green valleys, quiet beaches – all you will need for a great family break. Enjoy the great coastal areas famous for their lobster and take a trip across the bridge to Anglesey. What better way to see Wales than by bringing your own accommodation along with you. Enjoy the great outdoors and explore Wales more easily. Some of the most beautiful scenery can literally be on your door stop.
Northumberland.
Harry Potter country! Take the kids to see Alnwick castle where Harry Potter was filmed. Enjoy the long sweeping beaches, windswept countryside and of course sample the famous kippers from Craster.
9) The Isle of Wight.
There are some great deals to be grabbed on the ferry through February to Easter time and taking your motorhome to the Isle of Wight can be a great adventure. Visit the stunning marina at Cowes and the quaint coastal town of Ventnor. Easter is a great time to go on a touring break here!
10) Kent
The garden of England awaits. Take a trip around the fantastic countryside, villages hidden away and immersed in history and the great coastal towns of Hastings and Margate. Visit Canterbury and see the imposing cathedral or visit the 2nd world war tunnels and look-outs at the white cliffs in Dover.
