“I bought a motorhome in 2008 when I was sure the £400.00 per month finance wouldn’t be a problem. The longer the payments went on and the longer my motorhome just sat there looking at me, the more fed-up I got! My wife and I use it at Easter and for two weeks in June but apart from that we just didn’t have the time, plus my wife still wanted her two weeks on the beach in Spain! We began renting it out and to be honest at first I would have preferred to see it sat there costing me money than having strangers take it on holiday. The first hire we had was a family of four who took it to Norfolk for a week, that hire alone paid for one months finance, with some left. In the end it did make sense to rent it out and we have had really nice people hiring it, plus it is still there for us to use. I think considering the economic state of things at the moment I may have been forced to sell it if I didn’t rent it and that would have been a real shame.
